WWE Raw Triple H 2

Here are highlights from Triple H’s post-NXT TakeOver: Phoenix conference call.

– Triple H put over NXT TakeOver: Phoenix, calling it amazing show and praising the NXT locker room for raising the bar.

– Triple H was asked about the possibility of NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles. He said anything is possible, and that you have to have the right talent to do it. Joked that people wanted these titles on the main roster and now that they got them, they want them on NXT too.

– He was asked about the tag team division. He praised the division and said they have the talent they need to drive it. He put over War Raiders and Undisputed Era as crazy and also said the Street Profits vs. Forgotten Sons match was strong. Said he thinks there is going to be a resurgence for tag team wrestling at all levels. He said that the things that drive the future all start in NXT.

– He was asked about Sonjay Dutt and Abyss headed to WWE. He said WWE always wants more talented people and said he’s looking forward to seeing where Dutt and Abyss fit. He didn’t say when the two would start with WWE.

– He was asked about the order of tonight’s card and said a lot of thought goes into which match goes where on the card. He said sometimes it comes down to gut feeling, and also mentioned how you have to factor a talent’s experience level, such as Bianca Belair.

– He was asked about how fans now want talent to stay with NXT instead of going to the main roster and said he is thrilled with that, because otherwise it becomes predictable to see someone drop the title in NXT and go to the main roster the next day.

– He was asked about Velveteen Dream not wrestling tonight. He noted that Adam Cole wasn’t on the show either until the post-show segment. Said there are only so many spots on a show, just like how everyone doesn’t fight on every UFC card. He put over Velveteen Dream, saying it’s amazing how much he gets already. Said he doesn’t want to put talent in a position to fail, adding that he doesn’t think that will happen to Dream. Said sometimes people think that if a talent doesn’t win the title in their first match, they are ruined, but you have to have patience.

– He was asked about the Women’s Tag Team Title showing up in NXT and NXT UK. Said they are considering a lot of ideas but haven’t finalized anything yet, noting that the tag team environment will benefit a lot of wrestlers.

– He was asked about when Tegan Nox will return. He said that when someone gets injured, it’s on them to get back to the ring, and that she’s working hard and will return when she is ready.

– He was asked about how much pressure he is under creatively to keep NXT going. He said the stories are there to back things up, but that he has a talented roster that delivers, are young and hungry, and have something to prove, and that he is proud of them.

– He was asked about when the decision gets made to do an entrance like the ones the War Raiders got tonight. He said some Vikings called and wanted to come, adding that they try to showcase the talent and give them entrances that make them bigger stars than they would be just walking out, but that if you don’t deliver after the entrance, nobody cares. So when you do give talent some extra shine, it has to feel organic and not forced.
