Rusev hasn’t been seen on WWE TV for over a month now, and a new report has an update on his current status. The WWE star was last seen in action on the July 27th episode of WWE Raw, where he lost a bout to Je’Von Evans. He hasn’t made an appearance since that time, and Fightful Select reports that it was a matter of an injury.
Fan-shot video from that episode showed Rusev rushing off to the back after the match, and there had been speculation online that he wasn’t happy. That is not the case, and the outlet reports that during the spot where Rusev landed awkwardly on his neck, he notified the ref that his hands had gone numb. The ref asked if the match neeed to stop and Rusev wanted to keep going, but the numbness got worse. This is why he rushed off after the match.
Fightful notes that sources believe he was put in concussion protocol. After the match he was given a couple of weeks off and returned to the WWE Performance Center. However, he had an undisclosed illness and as of last week was waiting to be cleared by medical. He is expected to return to TV this month.
