Update On Status Of AEW’s Talks With Kairi

Kairi has been expected by many to go to AEW after her WWE exit, and a new report has details her discussions with the promotion. As you almost certainly know, Kairi exited WWE in late April as part of the company’s post-WrestleMania 42 roster cuts. Kairi has remained mostly quiet about her status following her exit from the company, though many have been under the expectation that she will end up in AEW.

According to Fightful Select, Kairi is not yet signed with AEW. The report cites sources as saying that there have been talks between the company and her, but no deal has been completed at this time. It goes on to note that sources implied that it never seemed likely that she would be signed by AEW by All In, and that she was never factored into the show at any point.

The report also notes that there are several companies interested in her at this time, including several outside of the US. That said, sources familiar with the matter said that she is not expected to end up with Marigold as her “home in Japan.”

It’s not yet clear how close AEW is to potentially signing Kairi to a contract, nor what the two sides have yet to agree on.
