Updated Card For WWE SummerSlam Following This Week’s Smackdown

WWE has an updated card for next weekend’s WWE SummerSlam following this week’s episode of Smackdown. Tonight’s show saw the Nick Aldis vs. Gunther match made official, as noted.

In addition, a Fatal Four-Way qualifying match for a #1 contenders bout at the PLE took place. Finn Balor defeated Damian Priest, Trick Williams, and Royce Keys in the match to punch his ticket to SummerSlam, where he will face Sami Zayn. The winner of the match will become the new #1 contender to the Undisputed WWE Championship.

In addition, a six-woman tag team match was announced as Fatal Influence will battle The Bella Twins and Paige. Finally, Charlotte Flair and Chelsea Green both qualified for the six-way ladder match to crown an interim WWE Women’s Champion. Green defeated Kiana James to qualify, while Flair beat Nia Jax by DQ after Jade Cargill got involved. Finally, it was announced after the show that Trick Williams will defend the WWE United States Championship against Baron Corbin after Corbin attacked Williams once Smackdown went off the air, leading to the challenge being issued by the champion.
