Note On When Roster Left Saudi Arabia After WWE Crown Jewel

The WWE roster reportedly left Saudi Arabia following WWE Crown Jewel well before an attack hit a financial building in Riyadh on Sunday. WWE Crown Jewel took place on Saturday in the Saudi capital. As the New York Times reports, a Houthi militia attacked the financial district in the city and damaged an office tower belonging to Aramco, the state oil company.
PWInsider reports that the roster had left well before the attack happened. While there was still some WWE staff in the city that was likely helping to break down the production set-up in the arena, there has been no word of anyone associated with the company being affected by the attack.
According to the site, the majority of the roster flew into Saudi Arabia by way of Bahrain, traveling to Riyadh by bus. The belief among sources is that some talent traveled via private plan straight in and out of Riyadh, but that was the exception to the rule.
WWE Crown Jewel was main evented by Roman Reigns defeating Sami Zayn to win the men’s Crown Jewel Championship. Other results saw Chelsea Green win the Women’s Crown Jewel Championship against Liv Morgan (only to be cashed in on by Tiffany Stratton and lose the WWE Women’s Championship), Penta & Je’Von Evans winning the World Tag Team Championships from The Vision, and Cody Rhodes defeating Randy Orton in a Last Man Standing Match.
