Will Ospreay is in the finals of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, and he recently reflected on what it would mean to win it. Ospreay is set to face Swerve Strickland in the finals of the tournament tonight at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, with the winner going on to All In: London to challenge for the AEW World Championship.

Ospreay made it to the finals of the tournament last year as well but lost to Hangman Page. He appeared on KRON 4’s The Finish and spoke about what it would mean to win it and go on to Wembley Stadium. You can see the highlights below:

On the Importance of the Owen Cup:

“Owen does [mean a lot to a lot of people], and there’s a legacy that is attached to his name. And to have his name attached to this tournament, attached to this cup, means so much to so many wrestlers.”

On His Drive to Win the Tournament:

“Last year I came so close. Like, I made it to the finals and I fell short. I left it all out there, I can’t say that I wasn’t proud of my performance. I was, I gave it everything I could and I generally believed in that moment I was the guy. With the setbacks of having my double neck fusion surgery, there was there was doubts that I was even going to make this tournament. I pushed the envelope and I’ve pushed it hard because I know what’s at stake.

“I can’t keep saying it enough, man. Wembley Stadium is the be all and end all for me. This is something that I’ve just dreamed about for so bloody long. And I all I just want, is just to put my stamp on the Owen and to make sure that people will come away Sunday just knowing that I left everything out there, my hopes, my dreams, my ambitions. And hopefully this just inspires anybody to just to follow their dream, man.”
