Will Ospreay overcame seven other competitors to win the first-ever Clockwork Carnage Match and retain the AEW World Championship at WrestleDream 2026. The Aerial Assassin and Konosuke Takeshita were the first two entrants.

“Speedball” Mike Bailey and Konosuke Takeshita were the two participants eliminated during the first stage. Takeshita eliminated Bailey by pinning him after hitting him with Rage Fire.

The Alpha was eliminated seconds before the final participant (Samoa Joe) made his entrance by former ally Kazuchika Okada courtesy of The Rainmaker.

1st Round: Entrants:

#1: Will Ospreay
#2: Konosuke Takeshita [eliminated]
#3: “Speedball” Mike Bailey [eliminated]
#4. Ricochet
#5. Darby Allin
#6. Kazuchika Okada
#7. Adam Copeland

2nd Round: Scoring Period

Samoa Joe entered the match and immediately pinned Darby Allin following a Muscle Buster to secure the first fall. Ricochet subsequently opened his account when he pinned Allin. Okada then nailed The Rainmaker on Adam Copeland to secure his first fall. Ospreay soon got his first point when he pinned Ricochet after connecting with the Styles Clash. Darby, too, got a point, as he pinned the champ following a Coffin Drop.

Allin secured another fall via a cradle pin over Copeland, who was yet to get off the mark at this point. However, Ospreay went level with Darby when he hit the TNT Champion with the Hidden Blade. Joe got his second point when he forced Ospreay to tap to the Coquina Clutch.

However, Copeland stunningly stormed back, as he pinned Samoa Joe and Ricochet via Spears to draw level with Joe, Ospreay, and Allin. With only a few seconds remaining, Copeland delivered a Spear to Okada and went for the pinfall, but Ospreay flattened him with a Hidden Blade and pinned him to retain the AEW World Championship.

Points accumulated during the Scoring Period:

Will Ospreay: 3
Adam Copeland: 2
Samoa Joe: 2
Darby Allin: 2
Kazuchika Okada: 1
Ricochet: 1

After the match, Copeland extended his hand toward Ospreay, and the champ duly obliged. However, Copeland then pulled Will toward him and seemingly put him on notice.

Anyway, Ospreay’s AEW World Championship reign currently stands at 49 days. He captured the title from Kenny Omega in the main event of All In: London this past August.
