New Women’s Tag Team Champions Crowned On WWE Smackdown

We have new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions as Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley captured the titles on this week’s WWE Smackdown. Friday night’s show had Fatal Influence’s Lainey Reid and Fallon Henley set to defend the titles against Paxley and Charlotte Flair. However, earlier in the show, Jade Cargill and the Baddies attacked Flair backstage and laid her out. Flair told Bliss to take her place in the Tag Team Title match.

The match went a little over eight minutes and featured Paxley as the endangered babyface in the middle of the match. She was able to eventually get the hot tag to Bliss though, and Bliss took over for a bit. Fatal Influence battled back but Paxley eventually hit a Cemetary Drive to get the pinfall and the titles.

You can see clips from the WWE Smackdown match below. This marks Paxley’s first run with the titles and Bliss’ fifth; she previously held them with Flair, Nikki Cross, and Asuka. Henley and Reid’s reign ends at 84 days, having won them from Paige and Brie Bella at Saturday Night’s Main Event in July.
