World Title Match Stopped At TNA Sacrifice Due To Potential Steve Maclin Injury

Then TNA World Championship match at TNA Sacrifice had an abrupt ending, as the match was stopped due to an apparent injury to Steve Maclin. Mike Santana defended his championship against Maclin in the main event of Friday’s TNA+ event. The match was thrown awry very early on when Maclin came off the ropes and took a superkick from Santana that knocked him to the mat. The referee called for medical and an official came over to check on the challenger, as did Carlos Silva
Eddie Edwards then came down to the ring and attacked Santana as Maclin was taken to the back. Santana battled back and put Edwards on a table, splashing him through the ringside furniture to end the show.
There’s no word as of now regarding Maclin’s status. Maclin earned the title shot through a storyline where he was “fired” as a result of taking said briefcase during the Feast or Fired match in January, then attacked Santana the next week. He ended up getting reinstated and got a match against Santana for the title. You can see a clip from the aftermath with Edwards below.
On behalf of 411, our best wishes to Maclin and hopes that he’s okay.
