WWE Hall of Famer Requests MLB Ban Be Lifted
– PWInsider reports that Pete Rose, who was inducted into the celebrity wing of the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004, has sent an official request to Major League Baseball requesting that his lifetime ban from the sport be lifted. As you likely recall, Rose was banned from baseball for life, including any potential Hall of Fame induction, after he admitted to placing bets on the Cincinnati Reds to win while he was managing them.
Major League Commissioner Rob Manfred, who succeeded Bud Selig as commissioner in January, said that he has received the requst and will look into its merits.
Rose has a long history with WWE, appearing several times for the promotion including a yearly feud with Kane that saw him get tombstoned several times. Kane inducted Rose into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004.
