WWE has set a big location for their Saturday Night’s Main Event to take place in July, according to a new report. According to Wrestlevotes Radio on Fightful Select, WWE is planning for their summer edition of the quarterly Peacock specials to take place on July 18th. The report adds that the show will be hosted at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
This will be only the second Saturday Night’s Main Event to take place at the famed venue, and the first to air live. The last iteration of the series to take place there was in August of 2007 and was headlined by CM Punk and The Boogeyman defeating John Morrison and Big Daddy V. That special also had Matt Hardy taking on Evander Holyfield in a boxing match.
The outlet notes that the show will take place the same weekend as Fanatics Fest, which takes place in New York City. As with previous years, WWE will be heavily involved in the fan convention.
WWE has not yet announced the July 18th date or the Madison Square Garden location. Their next upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event takes place on May 23rd in Fort Wayne, Indiana and will, of course, air on Peacock.
