WWE reportedly had different winners planned for the 2026 men’s and women’s Money in the Bank ladder matches before changing direction.
Last Saturday, Penta won the men’s ladder match, defeating CM Punk, Kevin Owens, Bron Breakker, Je’Von Evans, and Trick Williams. Meanwhile, Tiffany Stratton captured the women’s MITB briefcase, defeating Roxanne Perez, Sol Ruca, Lash Legend, Lola Vice, and Jacy Jayne.
According to False Finish, Bron Breakker was originally expected to win the men’s match, while Roxanne Perez was slated to capture the women’s briefcase. The report did not specify why WWE changed its original plans.
“Roxanne Perez and Bron Breakker were originally scheduled to win their respective MITB matches before WWE ultimately decided on Tiffany Stratton and Penta.”
Penta had reportedly made a strong impression backstage following his main-event match against Roman Reigns on Raw n Mexico. This week on Raw, he revealed a custom briefcase with its own pyro during the October 12 episode.
Meanwhile, Stratton has now won the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match twice. She previously won in 2024 and cashed in against Nia Jax for the WWE Women’s Championship.
