WWE Announces Money in the Bank Qualifiers for Smackdown

WWE just revealed two big triple-threat matches (via f4wonline) for tonight’s Smackdown that will determine the next entrants into the men’s and women’s Money in the Bank matches. With Bron Breakker, Je’Von Evans, Sol Ruca, and Lola Vice already qualifying, tonight’s matches will get things to the halfway point, adding a third named competitor to each six-person, briefcase-on-a-clip ladder match.
In the men’s division, Randy Orton, Trick Williams, and Rey Fenix will go at it. Orton has to be considered a heavy favorite, as a main eventer who doesn’t often lose. On the other hand, fans would probably prefer to see a high-flyer like Fenix or Williams in a multi-man ladder match. Orton’s methodical, stalking style is better suited to one-on-one matches.
In the women’s division, it’s Jacy Jane, Alexa Bliss, and Jade Cargill going against one another. WWE does like to throw a powerhouse into the mix, even having Otis win the men’s briefcase one year, so Cargill could fit the bill, but being lightweight for ladder spots may make Bliss a better choice. Jane, however, could use the push the briefcase would give her. Bliss is replacing the previously announced Tatum Paxley.
Also on tonight’s Smackdown: Cody Rhodes will do a sit-down interview with Michael Cole, and Sami Zayn will be making an appearance to celebrate his new Undisputed Championship victory.
411 will have live coverage of tonight’s show as per usual starting at 7:30 PM ET/4:30 PM PT.
