WWE News: Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Hall of Fame Speech, WWE’s Tour Of Abu Dhabi

April 16, 2015 | Posted by Joseph Lee

– During Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Hall of Fame speech last month, he mentioned Austrian wrestler Otto Wanz as an influence. However, Wanz didn’t start his career until Schwarzenegger already moved to the US. It’s believed that the reference to Wanz was included due to a conversation Schwarzenegger had with John “Bradshaw” Layfield. JBL spoke to Arnold before the ceremony and mentioned his time overseas working for Wanz.

– WWE’s tour of Abu Dhabi brought in 14,200 fans, but according to WWE’s business figures, only 5,100 were paid fans. This is a large drop in paid attendance, as their tour of the United Arab Emirates had 15,000 paid fans. It’s believed that WWE got a paid guarantee for the tour so it’s not a huge financial loss. However, it could show that public demand for WWE in the area has dropped.
