WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event Reportedly Getting Updated Look

It appears that the presentation for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event might soon receive an update. Wrestlevotes Radio on Fightful Select reports that the quarterly event is due to receive an updated look.
The event initially returned earlier this year with a classic, retro, and old-school look and feel, paying homage to the original SNME specials from the 1980s. According to WrestleVotes Radio, the retro nostalgic look is going to be updated.
WWE has reportedly had discussions about the change since August. It’s unknown if the presentation change will be permanent or temporary for this weekend’s special, which will feature the final match of John Cena’s career.
Additionally, it was mentioned that the next edition of WWE SNME in Montreal, Quebec in January 2026 is currently being advertised with the retro branding. That would suggest the updated look might be a one-shot deal for this weekend’s show, due to the inclusion of Cena’s last match of his career.
WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event goes live on December 18 at 8:00 pm ET. The event takes place at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. It will air live on Peacock in the U.S. and on Netflix internationally. Here’s the current lineup:
* John Cena vs. Gunther
* Oba Femi vs. Cody Rhodes
* Bayley vs. Sol Ruca
* AJ Styles & Dragon Lee vs. Je’Von Evans & Leon Slater
