WWE has reportedly filed a new trademark application for a Bishop Dyer/Baron Corbin-related nickname. As initially reported by Fightful, the company filed the trademark application on Friday for the name, which is Dyer’s current nickname on the independent scene.
The trademark is described as follows:
“Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.”
It was reported back in May that Dyer was believed to be coming back to the company. Dyer has been working in MLW, who have said on Fusion, in what seems to clearly be a storyline to write Dyer off, that he is in a “contract dispute” with the company after making exorbitant demands for a new deal.
No word on when Dyer/Corbin will be appearing on WWE TV.
