Yota Tsuji Set To Face Andrade El Idolo vs. Gabe Kidd Winner at NJPW The New Beginning USA

New Japan Pro-Wrestling just announced a huge title bout for NJPW The New Beginning USA card scheduled for later this month. Yota Tsuji will defend the Global Heavyweight Title against the winner of Andrade El Idolo vs. Gabe Kidd, which takes place tomorrow at The New Beginning in Osaka.

Andrade and Kidd will be facing off for the first time tomorrow, and the winner will earn a shot at Tsuji’s Global Heavyweight Title. Kidd and Yota Tsuji have faced each other in singles competition several times before. Andrade has never faced Tsuji, so it would be a potentially fresh matchup for The New Beginning USA event.

Per NJPW’s announcement, “In the wake of a tag clash at New Year’s Dash January 5, Kidd made the challenge to El Idolo, referencing both men’s history with ‘white belts’ in NJPW; Kidd as a former IWGP Global Champion and El Idolo a former Intercontinental Champion when he wrestled as La Sombra in CMLL. Kidd proposed that the winner would take a shot at Yota Tsuji’s IWGP Global title, and the date for that prospective championship match has now been set!”

NJPW The New Beginning USA takes place on Friday, February 27. The event will be held at the CURE Arena in Trenton, New Jersey. The event will stream live on NJPW World pay-per-view.
