Marcin Held Isn’t Feeling Pressure For His Fight With Diego Sanchez

November 4, 2016 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

Marcin Held spoke with MMAjunkie about his fight with Diego Sanchez at UFC UFC Fight Night 98. Some highlights are below:

On the pressure of being in the co-main event: “I don’t feel pressure. I had a big fight in Bellator against (then-champion) Will Brooks for the title (at Bellator 145), so I know this pressure. I know this and I feel comfortable. This is a normal fight like every other. It’s not a big difference for me.”

On wanting to finish the bout: “I don’t like to win by decision. Every fight, I try to win by submission, and this time will be the same, and I will be really happy to finish him in the first, like his last fight. People all over the world know him really well. Even in Poland he’s very popular. A lot of people know him. I’m very glad I have the opportunity to fight him. Also, he always gives good fights. He wants to fight. He’s not a fighter who takes down and – he’s not a boring fighter. And it is what I want to do. I want to give a really interesting fight for my fans, and I think this fight will be awesome.”

On his future: “I want to be the champion of this division. I can’t say that I will be a champion in one year or two years, but I think I have at least six more years of fighting, and in this time, I’ll be a champion in the division.”
