PWInsider has a major update on this week’s edition of AEW Collision. According to the report, AEW will move forward with taping this weekend’s edition of AEW Collision along with Dynamite, so tonight will now be a double-TV taping.
The January 24 episode of Collision was originally scheduled to be a live show in Arlington, Texas. However, weather concerns for the area, as there look to be winter storms all over the country, including in Dallas, led to AEW deciding to tape this week’s Collision to prevent any logistical issues.
The Dallas/Arlington area is expected to face five-to-eight inches of snow this week, which could lead to a city-wide shutdown. It’s noted by PWInsider that a number of events set for the area this weekend have already been postponed or canceled.
AEW has not yet announced the news of the show’s move. This weekend’s Collision was scheduled to be held at the Esports Stadium Arlington. Tonight’s AEW Dynamite is being held at the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida. The show will air live on TBS starting at 8:00 pm ET.
This week’s Collision will likely film after the live Dynamite TV broadcast. The show airs on Saturday, January 24 on TNT at 8:00 pm ET. Both Dynamite and Collision will also be simulcast on HBO Max. Here’s the announced lineup for this week’s Collision:
* AEW TNT Championship Match: Mark Briscoe (c) vs. El Clon
* CMLL World Heavyweight Championship Match: Claudio Castagnoli (c) vs. Roderick Strong
