With the recent premiere of Dark Side of the Ring, Season 7, the behind-the-scenes issues in TNA Wrestling have become a hot topic of discussion, with the premiere of “Jeff Jarrett & the Battle for TNA.” During a recent edition of Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall of Famer and former TNA World Champion Bully Ray spoke about issues with TNA management during his time in the promotion.
According to Bully Ray, the issues in TNA never came from the talents, and it was always due to issues with management. He explained (via WrestlingInc.com), “I can tell you, the issues always were at the top. Never the bottom. It was never because of a lack of effort from the talent, it was never the locker room’s fault.” He added, “Those men and women worked hard. Real hard.”
Bully Ray joined TNA along with tag team partner D-Von in 2005. He was a part of the company through 2015, becoming a multiple-time TNA World Champion and Tag Team Champion. He exited the company in 2015.
Bully Ray also shared his enjoyment of how the docuseries put together the TNA story. He also urged fans not to blame the talent. You can also check out 411’s coverage of the Season 7 premiere screening, featuring a Q&A with co-creator and executive producer Jason Eisener RIGHT HERE.
