Tony Khan Reacts to Recent Counter-Programming Measures From WWE

AEW boss Tony Khan recently commented on WWE’s counter-programming measures.
As noted previously, WWE is set to present an AAA event and NXT Heatwave on the same day as AEW All In: London.
Additionally, the company recently announced that AAA Worlds Collide will take place at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois, on September 26. Notably, AEW will present All Out from the NOW Arena in Illinois on the same day.
During his latest appearance on the Battleground Podcast, Tony Khan was asked if he views WWE scheduling its shows on the same day as AEW as healthy competition or just the reality of today’s wrestling business.
Here’s what Tony said [from 22:47 onward]:
“It’s probably all of the above. I think it’s all of the above. It’s the reality of current wrestling. It’s the, frankly, predatory nature of scheduling of events but also the compliment that says AEW’s doing very well and Chicago’s a great city for wrestling. I’m very excited about AEW All Out, and it’s not something unexpected to have competition, and I do welcome it, and I also really am excited about the run of shows coming up.”
