AXS TV and Combate Americas officially announced today that AXS TV and Fight Network will serve as exclusive English-language North American broadcast partners for the MMA promotion. The broadcast deal is slated to start later in 2020.

Under the new deal, AXS TV will broadcast Combate Americas events in English in the US, and Fight Network will air them in Canada. Combate Americas CEO Campbell McLaren and Anthem’s Chief Corporate OFficer Ed Nordholm announced the agreement today at a Los Angeles press event that also featured UFC Hall of Famer Tito Ortiz, Alberto El Patron Rodriguez (aka Alberto Del Rio), Kate Del Castillo, Rafa Garcia, and Gustavo Lopez.

AXS TV and Fight Network will broadcast a minimum of 35 Combate events in 2020. The events will also be available internationally for Fight Network’s international feeds. Speaking on the news, McLaren stated, “Combate Americas is continuing to make history and disrupt the greatest sport in the world with our brand of Mucha Más Acción. This historic deal with AXS TV and its new ownership group will allow us to add Spanish flavor to every home in the U.S. and Canada in 2020. Get ready!”

Ed Nordholm added, “Combate Americas has an impressive championship pedigree, powered by MMA visionary Campbell McLaren. We believe that Combate Americas is an outstanding promotion to carry AXS TV’s rich legacy in mixed martial arts. This landmark agreement marks a continuation of our commitment to showcasing the best athletes from all across the world, and is the perfect complement to our sports content.”

Additionally, AXS and Fight Network will air curated Best of Combate Americas shows, and they will also develop and co-produce episodes of FN Studios’ Diary, Retrospective, and After the Fight shows based on the Combate Americas roster.

UFC Hall of Famer Tito Ortiz will face former WWE Superstar Alberto El Patron on December 7 in Hidalgo, Texas. This will be the first live pay-per-view event for Combate Americas. You can check out that video below.
