Corey Anderson Wants Patrick Cummins to Reconsider Pulling Out of UFC 217 Bout

October 17, 2017 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

Corey Anderson has asked Patrick Cummins to reconsider withdrawing from their fight at UFC 217 over a staph infection. Anderson posted to Instagram today after Cummins said he would no longer compete at the card due to a “mutant staph infection.”

Anderson says that Cummins has time to resolve the issue, saying, “cut that s**t open, drain it, take your meds, take a couple rest days to elevate the leg, and you’ll be good by Saturday.” The UFC has yet to comment on the fight’s status.

UFC 217 takes place on November 4th in New York City and airs on PPV after prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
