Jenel Lausa Discusses His UFC Fight Night 101 Victory

November 27, 2016 | Posted by Jeffrey Harris

UFC fighter Jenel Lausa spoke to reporters in a media scrum (via MMAjunkie) following his win over Yao Zhikui for last night’s fight card. Below are some highlights from the scrum.

Lausa on what he focused on for the fight: “For this specific fight I really wanted to focus on striking, knowing that I have a competitive edge in terms of power against him. But it doesn’t necessarily mean I’m focused on strictly striking moving forward, we’re going to keep trying to find the best option to win the next one.”

Lausa on his learning in the sport: “I definitely hope that we’re going to get to that point. I’m younger, so I have more time to learn everything else. Hopefully by the time it happens I’m very well-rounded in my jiu-jitsu, wrestling, everything, so that when we’re given that chance we’ll be ready.”

Lausa on representing The Philippines in MMA: “I’m very, very happy I’m able to showcase my talent just so everyone knows there are Filipinos in the UFC and that I’m representing Philippines in MMA.”
