Jorge Masvidal Scores Fastest UFC Knockout Ever at UFC 239

Jorge Masvidal

UFC welterweight fighter Jorge Masvidal just broke and took the record for the fastest UFC knockout in history. For tonight’s main card bout against Ben Askren, Masvidal did a running flying knee while Askren appeared to be going in for a takedown. The knee hit flush, and Askren was already out after it connected.

The fight marks Masvidal’s second straight win and his 11th overall inside the Octagon. He has now scored two back-to-back knockouts. In his previous fight, Jorge Masvidal knocked out former welterweight title contender Darren Till in the second round.

Askren was unbeaten in his MMA career going into this fight, and this marks the first official loss of his pro-MMA career. He won his UFC debut against Robbie Lawler by technical submission at UFC 235 last March.
