Speaking at the post-fight press conference after his win at UFC 224, UFC fighter Kelvin Gastelum voiced that he believes he’s due for a title shot next. Below are some highlights from the presser (transcript h/t MMAjunkie).

Gastelum defeated Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza via split decision on the fight card. You can check out full results and coverage by 411 for the event RIGHT HERE.

Gastelum on wanting a title shot next: “I definitely feel like a title shot should be next. I don’t think I’d accept any other fight than the title shot. I’m the most active middleweight there has been. All the guys that I fought are top 10 and former champions. So I feel like I’m deserving.”

Gastelum on feeling deserving of a title shot: “I definitely feel like I deserve the shot. So I definitely feel I will sit out until my shot is next.”

Gastelum on the judging scores: “I knew that I had done enough to win. But, again, I was in Brazil, so I didn’t exactly know.”

His thoughts on Jacare: “Yes, I was surprised (that he wasn’t knocked out). I thought that if I could hit him with one punch, then that would be enough. But he’s a warrior.”
