Patrick Cummins: Brazil is the Most Difficult Place to Fight

Patrick Cummins spoke with MMAjunkie about his fight with Antonio Rogerio Nogueira at UFC 198 this weekend in Brazil. The highlights are below:

On fighting in Brazil: “I’m always up for the experience; I’m an experience guy, and that’s kind of my thing…This seems to be the most difficult place to fight, so if I want to speed up my experience and my age in this game, I’ll do it however I can.”

On his family not being able to come see him live: “It’s really difficult for my family and friends to come, but the way I think of it, there’s plenty of time for that stuff and there are better fights down the road for me, performance-wise, so it’s better they come to those.”

On Brazilian MMA fans: “I think I’ve earned a little respect. They’ve kind of gotten used to my face down there, so that’s good. It’s not going to deter them from the craziness before the fight, but at least I’m earning their respect.”
