TJ Dillashaw vs. Cory Sandhagen in the Works for UFC Fight in May

ESPN reports that former UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw will be looking to make a long-awaited return to the Octagon for a bout with No. 2-ranked bantamweight Cory Sandhagen in May. The UFC is currently in the process for the fight to headline an upcoming UFC Fight Night Card that will take place on May 8. The venue and host city are still being finalized.

TJ Dillashaw last fought in a first-round knockout loss to Henry Cejudo for the UFC flyweight title at UFC on ESPN+ 1 in January 2019. Dillashaw was later served a two-year suspension from the US Anti-Doping Agency after testing positive for
recombinant human erythropoietin (EPO). Dillashaw’s suspension later ended earlier this year, enabling him to make an eventual return to MMA.

Sandhagen is currently on a two-fight winning streak with back-to-back knockout wins over former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar and former bantamweight title contender Marlon Moraes. His current UFC record sits at 7-1, with his lone defeat coming at the hands of current bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling.

The UFC has not yet announced the full details on the Dillashaw vs. Sandhagen or upcoming May 8 fight card.
