UFC 258’s Chris Weidman vs. Uriah Hall Fight Delayed Due to Positive COVID-19 Test

According to a report from ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, a planned middleweight contest between former UFC champion Chris Weidman and Uriah Hall for UFC 258 has been delayed after Weidman tested positive for COVID-19. The reported plan is to keep the matchup intact and instead move it to UFC 261 in April.

The fight has not yet been signed for the planned move. There have been reported discussions for UFC to hold UFC 261 in Singapore, but those plans are not yet final.

Weidman and Hall previously fought at Ring of Combat 31 in September 2010. Weidman won the fight by knockout in the first round. That was the first loss of Hall’s professional MMA career.

Chris Weidman last fought at UFC on ESPN+ 32 last August, getting a decision win over Omari Akhmedov. Meanwhile, Hall is currently on a three-fight winning streak, with wins over Bevon Lewis, Antonio Carlos Junior, and former champion Anderson Silva.

UFC 261 is currently slated for April 24. The event does not yet have a location or venue.
