UFC on ESPN+ 22 Weigh-In Results: Jacare and Blachowicz on Weight

The UFC held the weigh-ins yesterday for today’s UFC on ESPN+ 22 card. The event takes place later today at the Ginásio do Ibirapuera in Sao Paulo. The card streams live on ESPN+. Headlining fighters Jan Blachowicz (205 pounds) and Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza (205 pounds) both came in on weight for their scheduled light heavyweight bout.

Only one fighter missed weight for the card in Isabella de Padua. She came in heavy for her scheduled flyweight bout against Ariane Lipski (125.5 pounds). De Padua weighted in at 130.5 pounds. As a result, she has to forfeit 30 percent of her purse to Lipski.

Initially, it was suspected that both Vanessa Melo and Tracy Cortez missed weight for their scheduled women’s bantamweight fight. However, the CABMMA later issued a statement (via MMAjunkie) that the scale used for the early morning weigh-ins was not correctly calibrated. As a result, the weights for Cortez and Melo were changed to 136 pounds, and they won’t be penalized.
