Comment: It’s sounding more and more like Tyron Woodley will next defend his championship at UFC 233 nextt month, though it may not necessarily be against Colby Covington. UFC president Dana White was talking up Kamaru Usman following the latters win on Friday, but it’s uncertain what would be the reason in him leapfrogging Covington into a title fight in a matter of weeks. Regardless, whomever Tyron ends up fighting, he will be the odds on favorite to win.

Comment: For my personal taste, the most anticipated fight in MMA currently scheduled is Ben Askren and Robbie Lawler at UFC 233. Askren gets his first chance against a former UFC champion and a guy widely considered one of the best modern welterweights. Meanwhile, Lawler has not won a fight since the summer of 2017 and missed the time since that fight due to a torn ACL. For Robbie to ever get a chance to regain UFC gold, he must beat Askren here. So, while you would imagine all the pressure in the world is on Askren’s shoulders, there’s plenty of pressure on Lawler as well.
