Star Trek: Picard Showrunner To Write Enemy Mine Remake

20th Century Studios’ Enemy Mine remake has a writer in Star Trek: Picard showrunner Terry Matalas. THR reports that the Matalas has signed on to right the film, which will be a remake of the 1985 sci-fi classic. No producer or director is currently on board is currently set for the film.

Enemy Mine was directed by Wolfgang Petersen and starred Dennis Quaid and Louis Gossett Jr. as a human and alien who who crash land on a desolate planet and must overcome their hated for each other to survive. The original film was not a critical or commercial success upon its release but has gained a reappraisal in the years since.

In addition to his work on Picard, Matalas was the creator and showrunner for the 12 Monkeys series and served as showrunner for season four of MacGyver. He will also serve as showrunner for Marvel’s upcoming Vision Disney+ series.
