Title Reportedly Revealed For Fifth The Purge Film
It looks as if we have the title for the fifth film in The Purge franchise. In a feature on Hollywood’s lockdowns, THR reports that the fifth film in the franchise will be titled The Forever Purge. The article notes that Jason Blum is currently “prepping” the project, which is believed to have completed filming before productions were stopped over COVID-19.
The film is being directed by Everardo Gout (Luke Cage) and is currently set for a July 10th, 2020 release date. There’s every likelihood of course that the film will be delayed from that point due to the pendemic. The movie will reportedly move out of the usual city settings, but still deal with class and race issues.
The Purge franchise has been extremely profitable for Universal, grossing a total of $446.9 million worldwide between the first four films against a combined budget (not including marketing) of $35 million.
