Warner Bros. Sets 2024 Release Date For Beetlejuice 2

The long-awaited sequel to Beetlejuice has lined up a release date. Deadline reports that Warner Bros. Pictures will release Beetlejuice 2M on September 6th, 2024. The film is set to begin filming tomorrow in London.

Tim Burton is back at the helm for the follow-up to the 1988 horror comedy, with Michael Keaton back as the titular ghost. Jenna Ortega (Wednesday, Scream VI, X) is set to co-star with Keaton in the film, which was written by Mike Vukadinovich. Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg, who wrote earlier drafts of the script, are producing the film.

The original film was a hit when it released in 1988 with $74.7 million worldwide against a $15 million budget. It starred Keaton, Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis, Jeffrey Jones, Catherine O’Hara, and Winona Ryder and centered on a newly-deceased couple (Baldwin and Davis) who find a new family moving into their home. They hire Beetlejuice, a malicious ghost, to help them drive the family out but get more than they bargained for.
