Hello folx, we are at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Paradise, Nevada, for Night One of AAA’s TripleMania 34! This will be the first multi-night TripleMania since TripleMania XXXII in 2024! This is also the first TripleMania to be held in the USA since TripleMania IV-A in 1996. And the first to be held outside of Mexico since TripleMania VIII, which took place in Tokyo, Japan!

TripleMania had long been a bit of a joke; every time it felt like a big breakout moment for AAA, they’d find a way to ruin it. And I think the best thing about the WWE buying AAA has been the creative direction. They’ve kept the Lucha traditions and added simple and effective booking to create one of the best promotions in the world.

So, needless to say, I’m excited for this weekend, and we are kicking it off with stacked Night One! In a Mixed Relevos Australianos match, we will see the team of Adelicious, Mini Vikingo, and Mascarita Sagrada take on the team of Lady Shani, Jack Cartwheel, and Mini Abismo Negro!  The LWO, Los Americanos, Tokyo Bad Boys, and Fraxiom will battle in a Fatal Four-Way Tag Team match!

Roxanne Perez, Faby Apache, Nattie, and La Hiedra will compete for a shot at the Reina de Reinas Championship at Worlds Collide! Laredo Kid and Mr. Iguana are both looking to become Latin American Champion as they take on the new champion, La Parka! Los Psycho Circus will defend their AAA World Trios Championships against Los Perros del Mal! And in our main event, Rey Mysterio takes on Omos in a match to determine Omos’ future in AAA!

This should be a fun match to kick off the show. It’ll also help showcase what sets Lucha apart from the US style of Pro Wrestling. There are rumors that they are holding Night One in the Las Vegas area to showcase the brand to TV Executives. And so hopefully matches like this can sell the show.

All six wrestlers in this match can go, and it should have a lot of fun high spots. Cartwheel and Vikingo had a great showing in their Triple-Threat at Ola de Calor. And the other four wrestlers are just as talented. I’m going for Adelicious, Mini Vikingo, and Mascarita Sagrada for the win here.

They’ve been getting behind Mini Vikingo, and picking up the win here will give him momentum going into the Cruiserweight Championship match on Night Two. Even more so if he pins Cartwheel to get the win.

Winners: Adelicious, Mini Vikingo, and Mascarita Sagrada

Fatal Four-Way Tag Team Elimination
Latino World Order (Cruz del Toro & Joaquin Wilde) vs Los Americanos (Rayo Americano & Bravo Americano) vs Tokyo Bad Boys (Kento & Nobu San) vs Fraxiom (Nathan Frazier & Axiom)

You have to assume that a win here will get the winners a shot at the World Tag Team Championships. I could actually see the winners answering the open challenge for Night Two. And with that in mind, The War Raiders beat R-Truth and Damien Priest on SmackDown, and Los Americanos get their rematch after winning tonight.

While I would have preferred they win the titles at Ola de Calor, ending TripleMania with all three Americanos draped in gold would be sweet.

All four teams are world-class talents, and I expect this to be balls-to-the-wall action. I do not envy whoever is going to be doing the live review, because it’s going to be hell to keep track of. So, while Los Americanos are going to win the match, we fans are going to be the real winners.

I also hope this gives the LWO and Fraxiom a bit of a push on the main roster. Both teams are being wasted on Raw and SmackDown. And strong showings here will hopefully help to raise their stock.

Winners: Los Americanos

AAA World Trios Championships
Los Perros del Mal (Daga, Ángel, & Berto) vs. Los Psycho Circus (Dave the Clown, Murder Clown, & Panic Clown)

With their loss at Ola de Calor, Los Perros del Mal need this win. Putting the belts on one of the top rudo stables will also give more prestige to the titles. And while I don’t think this will be an outright squash, I expect Los Perros del Mal to dominate the match. They can use all the classic rudo tropes to keep things in their favor.

Psycho Circus is a long-running stable, and a loss won’t hurt them, while a win would be huge to help establish Los Perros del Mal. I don’t expect this match to be as crazy as the previous two, but it should still be fun in its own way.

Winners and new AAA World Trio Champions: Los Perros del Mal

Fatal Four-Way Number One Contender for the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship
Roxanne Perez vs Faby Apache vs Nattie vs La Hiedra

With this being for a shot at Worlds Collide (and spoiler: I’m picking La Cattalina to win on Sunday). A rudo from the WWE winning makes the most sense here. Which means Roxanne Perez. Someone who also could just really use a win. She has been relegated to eating pins in tag matches and rarely getting to showcase her talents.

A win here will give her a chance to show what made her such a can’t-miss prospect. And if she did manage to win the Reina de Reinas Championship, it would create an interesting dynamic within the Judgment Day (assuming Dom loses on Sunday, and Liv loses her title soon).

This match should give us a good mix of high-flying, technical wrestling, and brawling. It should be interesting to see how they put it all together, and I think this has the makings of a sleeper hit of the night.

Winner: Roxanne Perez

Triple-Threat for the AAA Latin American Championship
Laredo Kid vs Mr. Iguana vs La Parka

With La Parka having just won the title, I don’t expect him to lose here. And that doesn’t mean this match isn’t going to be a hell of a lot of fun. Kid and Parka are great representatives of what Lucha is all about, and Mr. Iguana is always fun to see!

While I think the Tag Team Elimination match will be Match of the Night, I think this is in contention for a sleeper hit with the Women’s Fatal Four-Way. La Parka will get to show off why he was given the chance to carry the belt. And he is in there with two guys who will sell their asses off to help him.

Getting to see this iteration of La Parka get such a strong push has made me a very happy camper. I was totally an original La Parka fan going back to WCW, and to see someone carrying on the name and mask is great.

Winner and still AAA Latin American Champion: La Parka

Omos’ AAA Career On the Line
Rey Mysterio (with El Grande Americano) vs Omos (with Dominik Mysterio & Dorian Roldán

I get why this is probably the main event for the night; Rey Mysterio is the biggest name in Lucha. He has spent decades on TV, and if you are trying to sell your product to TV executives, he is the guy to do it. But I just wish we could have a more traditional Lucha match here.

Having Americano and Dom at ringside will help sell their match on Sunday, and it gives them more bodies to figure out spots with. The issue here is Omos, which isn’t a knock on him. It’s just hard to work around someone that size. You don’t want your giant taking a lot of losses or selling a lot. So, if he was going to lose, they have to find a way to make it believable.

And yes, Mysterio has a long history of slaying giants, but this is also an older Mysterio who is the GM as well. His role is to put Omos over. So, the question is, how much do you have Omos sell? And if Mysterio is going to lose, then why drag it out? Myterio and can use his speed and knowledge to stay in the game for a while, but eventually Omos is going to get him, and at that point the match should be over.

Hence why I wish this wasn’t the main event. Put the Latin American Championship match in this spot instead. I don’t expect this one to light the world on fire, and I’m just hoping it’s entertaining and gets Omos over.

Winner: Omos
