411’s AAA Verano de Escándalo 2026 Week 3 Preview

Hello Folx! We are once again at Arena San Marcos in Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes, Mexico, for week three of 26th Verano de Escándalo!

Last week, La Parka defeated Lince Dorado and Mecha Wolf to earn a spot in the Four-Way match for the Latin American Championship! We also saw El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. and Galeno defeat the team of Dinámico and Drago! And in our main event, Rey Fénix defeated Mini Vikingo to retain the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship!

Tonight, Damien Priest, Galeno, and Omos will fight for a spot in the Four-Way match at TripleMania 34 for the vacant AAA Latin American Championship! And in a second Triple Threat, Flammer defends her AAA Reina de Reinas Championship against La Catalina, and Lady Shani!

[Editor’s Note: AAA revealed a different qualifying match for this week’s show after Hel completed her preview.]

I’m a bit on the fence with this one. On the one hand, Omos would be an interesting choice. He would have a built-in feud with stablemate Vikingo once he returns from injury. And whoever did finally beat him would be over huge. Galeno has been getting a decent push lately, and his brother has already qualified. This makes an interesting story on how willing they are to face each other.

And then you have Damien Priest. Priest has been feuding with the AAA World Tag Team Champions on SmackDown. Which could come into play here, but I think it would be more interesting to have him tonight, and then get screwed at TripleMania 34. Which could lead to another title shot for R-Truth and Priest.

And since TripleMania is two nights, if you have the Four Way on Night 1, you can have the Tag Team Championship match on Night 2. With all that said, I think I am going with Priest for the win. He provides a big name for the match and will get more eyes on TripleMania.

It’s time to get the belt of Flammer, and I’ve been saying that for a year now. La Catalina was a huge get for AAA, and now is the time to give her the belt. I understand wanting to wait until TripleMania, but do it here, and let Flammer have a rematch at the big event.

Shani is a worthy challenger as well, but with all the hype Catalina had coming in, she needs to be the one to finally dethrone Flammer. A win here will allow her to be on all the press with the belt, and help to sell the show. Flammer can heel it up in her efforts to get the belt back, and it will make for a better match than if she is still champion going into the event.
