Aaron Wolf Makes In-Ring Debut, Wins NEVER Openweight Title At NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 20

Aaron Wolf is a champion following his first match, defeating EVIL for the NEVER Openweight Championship at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 20. The Olympic gold medalist made his in-ring debut at NJPW’s 2026 kickoff event on Sunday and captured the Openweight Championship in a bout that went 13 minutes.

EVIL got assistance from several of his House of Torture allies, while Toru Yano, Master Wato, and YOH all tried to to even the odds. Wolf survived a splash through a table by Don Fale and a lariat by EVIL, and ultimately made his opponent pass out to a triangle choke to win the match and the title. Aaron Wolf signed with NJPW in July of 2025. He competed at the 2020 Summer OLympics and won a gold medal in the 100 kg competition. He ends EVIL’s NEVER Openweight Championship reign at 83 days. EVIL won the title from Boltin Oleg at King of Pro-Wrestling in October and was making his first defense of the title.
