Adam Copeland Talks Pride in Judgment Day’s Progress

Before Liv Morgan and Dirty Dom led the Judgment Day of today, there was Edge, now Adam Copeland, making a surprise heel turn to launch the gothic group. Edge didn’t last long as a bad guy because he was too well-liked by WWE fans, but now in AEW, he talked a little bit to Ariel Helwani about how he feels pride in seeing what they’ve become.
On the Original Angle:
“I’m very proud of of some of the stuff that it got up to, you know, and to see that it was such a great launching pad, more than anything, because that was the initial vision was it was to make it a launching pad for talent, at least that at that stage that I saw and went, hey, we need to implement these people more. Like, Damian Priest is 6’6″ and can move, and Rhea’s Rhea, and like, how how are we not doing anything?”
On Being Booted From the Group:
“You get Dom in there, and to see where he’s gone, and then also to be the babyface along with Rey for that first year of them kind of finding their feet once, you know, I was tossed from the group. That was really fun, too, because I felt like I was involved in trying to help continue to to get it off the ground. It’s same with the Brood. It’s the same with La Familia. It’s the same with Lita, it’s the same with Vicki [Guerrero]. It’s the same with the stuff I’ve done with Beth [Phoenix] or or any, you know, Rated RKO. I’ve been really, really lucky and thankful for some of the stuff and groups that I’ve been involved in, because they made some headway.”
On Dominik Mysterio Specifically:
“I’m blown away by him. don’t think you would have found too many people that would have would have called this, or understand that he had that in him, you know, because he was a quiet kid who who barely said boo. And then you realize like under there is, this young man is starting to grow and find his voice. Even just to see how far he’s come. I think his first match was with Rollins during the pandemic, right? And to see where he is now.”
“I had his first match as a heel and it was on Raw. I think it was in Portland, and he’d never been a heel before and he’s in the main event of Raw trying to be a heel. I feel like that was the the route and the road to go and and let him kind of discover, and I think he’s been able to for sure.”
