Update on When Maya World Is Expected To Return

Former AEW TBS Champion Maya World is expected to remain out of action for a couple of months following surgery.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that World is currently out of action following an undisclosed surgery. Her absence has affected the ongoing storyline involving Persephone.

It was previously reported that World underwent surgery during the week of September 16. She was also forced to withdraw from upcoming independent wrestling appearances. The nature of the surgery has not been publicly disclosed.

World’s last match came on the September 9 episode of AEW Dynamite: Rebel Heart. She teamed with Thunder Rosa and Hyan against Britt Baker, Persephone, and Hikaru Shida but lost.

She had been involved in a storyline with Persephone and Baker after losing the TBS Championship at AEW All In: London. Persephone won the title after Baker returned during the match and interfered, ending World’s championship reign after 35 days.
