The AEW World Championship is set to be defended in a Clockwork Carnage Match at AEW WrestleDream 2026.

During tonight’s episode of AEW Collision, Tony Schiavone revealed that reigning World Champion Will Ospreay recently talked to Tony Khan about bringing the Clockwork Carnage match to All Elite Wrestling. The concept is a brainchild of Ospreay, and it was introduced in Pro Wrestling: EVE last month.

Below are the rules for the match:

-> The match will feature eight competitors and two stages.
-> Two randomly selected wrestlers will start the match.
-> Randomly selected wrestlers will enter the ring every three minutes.
-> Until all eight wrestlers have entered the ring, any wrestler who is pinned or submitted will be eliminated.
-> Once the eighth wrestler enters, all remaining participants will enter a 15-minute ‘Scoring Period.’
-> During those 15 minutes, every pinfall or submission will score one fall.
-> The wrestler with the most fall victories at the end of the 15 minutes will be declared the winner.

Check out the announcement below:

It is currently unclear whether Ospreay will remain AEW World Champion by the time WrestleDream rolls around, as he is scheduled to defend his gold against Kazuchika Okada this coming Tuesday at Grand Slam: France.

AEW WrestleDream 2026 will take place at the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida, on Saturday, October 17. Below is the updated lineup:

-> AEW Women’s World Championship Match: Mercedes Mone [c] vs. Thekla
-> Clockwork Carnage Match for the AEW World Championship.
