Alberto El Patron’s arrest on allegations of domestic violence has led to his being suspended from The Crash in Mexico. As noted, the WWE, AAA, and TNA alumnus was arrested in San Luis Potosi in northern Mexico after his wife made an emergency call and reported that she was a victim of domestic abuse.
The Crash announced in a statement (h/t to Fightful’s Luis Pulido for the translation) that El Patron has been suspended, writing:
“Through this medium The Crash Lucha Libre is a company with values that promotes sport entertainment in a family way, and disapproves any act of violence. For this reason we will suspend Alberto Del Rio “El Patron” from our programming after the recent events.”
In addition, the San Luis Potosí State Attorney General’s Office has issued a statement on the arrest. The report notes that the Attorney General’s Office began investigations against El Patron, who was “placed in the disposal” of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Attention to Women, Family and Sexual Crimes following his arrest. The statement says that according to the victim, an argument broke out between them which led to El Patron committing “various physical and verbal assaults against his partner.”
The full statement reads (translation per Google):
“The Attorney General’s Office of the State of San Luis Potosí (FGESLP) initiated investigations against Alberto “N”, who is accused of the probable crime of domestic violence against his romantic partner, in events that occurred in Lomas del Tecnológico, in the capital of San Luis Potosí.
The accused was placed at the disposal of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Attention to Women, Family and Sexual Crimes, after being arrested in flagrante delicto by agents of the State Civil Guard (GCE) of the State Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPCE), after a call for help made by the victim on the afternoon of Monday, April 6.
According to the victim’s complaint, upon meeting Alberto “N” inside a home in the Lomas del Tecnológico subdivision, an argument ensued that led the accused to commit various physical and verbal assaults against his partner.
After the arrest carried out by the GCE agents, the accused was placed at the disposal of agents of the Public Ministry, who will be in charge of duly compiling the investigation file and presenting him before the judicial authority at the initial hearing, where he will have to answer for the acts that he is accused of.”
Patron has previously been accused of domestic violence by former partner Paige, aka Saraya, from their time together. He was also arrested and charged with four counts of sexual assault and one of aggravated kidnapping on allegations that he assaulted a woman after accusing her of infidelity, forced her to “wear a dress and dance for him,” and eventually violently sexually assaulted her over a period of 16 hours. Those charges were dropped in December of 2021, reportedly after a witness went missing.
