Andrade El Idolo Captures National Championship At AEW Redemption

Andrade El Idolo officially has AEW gold, laying claim to the AEW National Championship by beating Mark Davis at AEW Redemption. El Idolo defeated his former Don Callis Family stablemate at Sunday’s PPV in order to win the title and deal a blow to his former stable.

The battle between the two went a little over 16 minutes, as Davis took it to El Idolo with everything he had. Davis countered a frog splash late in the match by getting the knees up, but El Idolo was able to turn it around and hit Dia De Los Muertos followed by the DM for the victory and title.

You can see clips from the AEW Redemption match below. The win marks El Idolo’s first AEW championship and ends Mark Davis’ reign at 79 days. Davis won the title at AEW Collision: Fairway To Hell from Jack Perry.
