During today’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer addressed recent comments by WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash, heavily criticizing TKO for interfering with the WWE booking of his friend, WWE Chief Creative Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque.

According to Meltzer, TKO doesn’t “do a lot” to interfere with the booking of Triple H, but says when TKO does intervene, it always happens “at the most inopportune times.” Meltzer explained, “He [Nash] was pretty vocal about them [TKO] interfering with his buddy’s booking ideas, which they really don’t do a lot, but as I was told, they don’t do it much, but they seem always to do it at the most inopportune times.”

Meltzer also made reference to rumors regarding ESPN broadcaster Stephen A. Smith getting involved with WWE. It was also rumored that ESPN sources were “pleased and enthusiastic” about Smith potentially getting involved with WWE creatively, and there was expected to be a payoff for his recent involvement in WWE coverage that was “pitched for this summer.”

Meltzer indicated that people in WWE who were not happy about Pat McAfee being inserted into Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton’s WrestleMania feud are actually favorable to Stephen A. Smith. He explained, “Although, boy, that name has been talked about, and I know it’s serious talk, and put it this way, a lot of the people who were not happy about Pat McAfee, in fact, are favorable to Stephen A, so, I mean, as far as internally, it goes. But we’ll have to wait and see.”

It’s unclear what type of creative angle Stephen A. Smith would be involved in with WWE. Smith recently had an interaction where he was “cursed” by Danhause. However, Smith claimed he wasn’t scared of him.
