– A new report from Fightful Select has new details and updates heading into WWE Elimination Chamber 2026 later tonight, including changes made in the show’s booking due to recent injuries. As previously reported, Jey Uso was assaulted and taken away in an ambulance last night on WWE SmackDown.
That allowed WWE to make a change and have Logan Paul replace Jey Uso in the Elimination Chamber match. Fightful Select reports that Jey Uso wasn’t even planned to make the trip to Chicago tonight for Elimination Chamber as of last Monday, as Bronson Reed was originally scheduled to win the qualifier match.
However, as noted, Reed getting injured during the match forced WWE to call an audible and change the winner. As a result, Logan Paul replacing Jey Uso in the match was reportedly part of WWE’s pivot for Elimination Chamber.
It was also previously reported by WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select that, due to the recent changes, the masked mystery man angle with The Vision is undergoing heavy rewrites. Last night’s angle on WWE SmackDown saw Logan Paul unmask the mystery man, who was revealed as Don Furio, who trained Seth Rollins’ Black and Brave Wrestling Academy, along with Cody Rhodes and QT Marshall’s Nightmare Factory.
Fightful Select’s update reports that last night’s unmasking angle was part of the recent changes and rewrites. Additionally, it’s said that the masked mystery man reveal isn’t over, as some fans may already suspect. That seems to suggest that Don Furio was not the real masked mystery man, and last night’s angle was a fake-out.
– In terms of other talents who are in Chicago ahead of Elimination Chamber, Fightful reports that NXT’s Sol Ruca is in town, as she was already scheduled for a meet and greet this weekend. Also, main roster star Oba Femi is in town for a meet and greet. It’s unknown if they will be appearing at tonight’s event.
– Fightful also reports that multiple talents from OVW are working as security and extras at last night’s SmackDown in Louisville, Kentucky.
– Lastly, Fightful reports that new talents for the WWE ID program are being nailed down and will be announced soon.
