– Fightful Select has some additional backstage notes from last night’s edition of WWE Raw, which kicked off the King of the Ring and Queen of the Ring tournaments. It’s reported by Fightful that the participants for at least one of the matches scheduled for Raw last night were moved off the show and were said to have found out yesterday.
With regards to why WWE didn’t move some of the matchups to next week’s or a different show, it’s said that there wasn’t enough time between now and the King & Queen of the Ring premium live event to make that happen. Four of the eight planned opening round matches for both tournaments were reportedly adjusted or moved to another night. Drew McIntyre also had to withdraw from his matchup due to not being medically cleared.
Additionally, the report notes that several other main roster call-ups from NXT for the WWE Draft were brought to Raw last night. However, they were not used on TV.
– As noted, Dakota Kai announced during Raw that Asuka is injured and had to bow out of the tournament, with Kai serving as her replacement. Fightful reports that Asuka is legitimately injured. Also, Asuka was reportedly in attendance at last night’s show.
– Fightful Select also reports that B-Fab has recently been training some MMA with Bobby Lashley. She previously trained at the Fight Ready Complex in 2018-2019.
