Backstage Update On Multiple Recent TNA Departures

TNA’s roster continues to change, with Sinner & Saint officially leaving the company. At the same time, a new report says Sami Callihan has been working backstage in AEW on a trial basis. The latest updates add to the list of recent departures and behind-the-scenes moves involving TNA talent.

Sinner & Saint, made up of Travis Williams and Judas Icarus, spent time on TNA television but were not featured regularly. Their last televised match came on the March 12 episode of TNA iMPACT!, where they lost to The Hardys.

Fightful Select has confirmed the tag team asked TNA for their releases. The company approved the request and later confirmed that both wrestlers had been released. The report also said several sources in TNA were surprised the team did not get more TV time. Williams and Icarus were also said to be “well-liked” backstage.

There is also an update on Sami Callihan. After leaving TNA earlier this year, he has reportedly been working backstage at AEW events. His role has been on the production side rather than as an on-screen performer. As noted earlier, the work is currently on a trial basis. If things go well, it “could lead to more” in the future.

Lastly, Steve Maclin, has been in preliminary contact with AEW, according to the report. No word on if a deal is coming any time soon, though.
