Backstage Update on AEW Status of Private Party

Former AEW World Tag Team Champions Private Party have been MIA from AEW TV since they lost the tag titles to The Hurt Syndicate just under a year ago. The latest Fightful Select Answers Q&A had an update on their recent whereabouts.
According to Sean Ross Sapp, Marq Quen was backstage at an AEW event a couple of months ago, but not much else has been heard about them beyond that. It was reported earlier in June 2025 by The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that their AEW contracts were going to expire “soon.” However, it’s 2026, and as Sapp notes, they are still currently under contract with AEW.
Additionally, as noted earlier, it’s said that Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy’s contracts don’t match up exactly, and Sapp also says there was WWE interest in the tag team.
Private Party signed with AEW not long after the company was announced in 2019, later making their AEW in-ring debuts at Fyter Fest 2019. They also competed on the first episode of AEW Dynamite in October of that year, beating The Young Bucks in a tournament bout for the tag team titles.
