Backstage Update on Future Edition of WrestleMania in New Orleans

Fans might recall that, as a result of WWE moving WrestleMania 42 from New Orleans to Las Vegas, it was reported that the city of New Orleans was promised the event would be held there in the future. Fightful Select now has an update on the plans for a future edition of WrestleMania in the city.
Those familiar with the situation informed Fightful that there’s currently a hold on the New Orleans Superdome from March 12, 2029 through April 21, 2029. One source who has worked with WWE events in the city stated that the hold was put in conjunction with WWE.
So, it would appear that WrestleMania 45 will be heading to New Orleans in 2029. Fightful Select also notes that due to concerts and other events taking place at the stadium, it’s expected that there would be a two-week load-in that would require a hold, but the window was extended, likely due to WWE narrowing down an eventual date, or likely two for WrestleMania, which has become a two-day event in recent years.
Will New Orleans Finally Get Its WrestleMania in 2029?
Although nothing is official, WWE has a six-week hold on the venue at the moment. Another city that’s owed a future WrestleMania is Indianapolis, Indiana. Former WWE Champion and TKO Board Member Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson even appeared on SmackDown last year to announce WrestleMania 42 in New Orleans, Louisiana. However, WWE ultimately opted to pull the event out of the city and move it to Las Vegas, Nevada instead.
New Orleans was later announced as the host city for Money in the Bank earlier this year. However, that event was also delayed from September to October.
Fightful reports that when reaching out to WWE in an official capacity, a spokesperson said that nothing was final or ready to be announced yet. WWE hasn’t officially announced any dates, venue, or host city for WrestleMania in 2029.
