As previously reported, WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio recently confirmed that he was heading to Saudi Arabia for the Royal Rumble, despite having to be helped to the back during his match on WWE Raw earlier in the week. PWInsider has an update on the former World Heavyweight Champion.
According to the report, Mysterio is said to have suffered a minor rib injury. There’s no word yet on the severity of the injury or if it will prevent him from appearing in the men’s Royal Rumble match on Saturday.
Rey Mysterio was among the previously declared 15 Superstars for the Rumble match, and WWE has not announced that he has had to withdraw from the match yet due to injury. WWE Royal Rumble 2026 takes place on January 31 at the KAFD in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
WWE Royal Rumble 2026 will air live on the ESPN App in the U.S. and on Netflix internationally.
