Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo Featuring Liv Morgan To Premiere At Toronto International Film Festival

Liv Morgan will be seen on the big screen in September, with Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo set to premiere at Toronto International Film Festival. TIFF announced on Monday that the Takashi Miike-directed film will premiere at this year’s edition, as you can see below.

Morgan was cast in the film in April of last year. She co-stars with Shun Oguri, Lily James, Shotaro Mamiya, and Jun Kunimura in the movie, which is a spiritual sequel to the 1992 Abel Ferrara film that starred Harvey Keitel as a corrupt police officer in New York City investigating the sexual assault of a nun. A previous sequel, Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans, starred Nicolas Cage and released in 2009.

Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo stars Oguri as a corrupt gambler in the Metropolitan Police Force, who finds himself thrown into a tangled case after an enigmatic FBI agent (James) arrives in Tokyo to investigate the disappearance of a politician’s daughter (Morgan). Meanwhile, a deviant killer operating in the yakuza underworld seems to be shadowing their moves.

The 51st Toronto International Film Festival takes place from September 10th through the 20th. Also set to screen at the festival are the Amazon MGM Studios Sylvester Stallone biopic I Play Rocky, Danny Boyle’s Ink, and Anton Corbijn’s A Talent for Murder. More films will be announced in the coming weeks.
